Inspired by the story of Aladdin and the magic lamp from The Book of One Thousand and One Nights, the film is centered on a young 'street rat' in the kingdom of Agrabah who uses the power of a shape-shifting genie to win the heart of the beautiful Princess Jasmine. Aladdin is the thirty-first animated feature film in the Disney Animated Canon which was released on Novemas the fourth entry of the Disney Renaissance.
